ABOUT ME

Junior Java Developer

I became a certified Java Programmer in the Autumn of 2022 and am excited to enter the software development workforce. I am interested in many aspects of development and am not just limited to Java as I have experience in C# and web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I have personal projects to showcase my skills and am working on more. My education is unconventional; I used resources available to me online and through the library to gain my knowledge and experience. College was not attainable for me, but that does not mean an education was not. I learned in my free time between work and other commitments. I enjoy creating and building systems that people can use to help them solve issues. I believe that having this unique educational background will be beneficial in the industry I join. It speaks to my resourcefulness, dedication and eagerness to learn that I took this unconventional path.

Olivia Wyand

In my free time, I enjoy going for hikes and camping. I enjoy running and being physically active. Apart from being outside, I love reading (some of my favorite genres include Science-Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Religious Texts) and playing the piano. The hardest book I have ever read is Paradise Lost, by John Milton. The most difficult piano peice I have learned - and by far the piece I am most proud of - is Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2. I have had many opportunities to volunteer through churches and local communities. I was apart of several volunteer construction crews over the summers. I also held a place of leadership at my childhood church when I was in High School. I helped with the planning and coordinating of events for the children's services.
